WAHIAWĀ, Hawai‘i – Wahiawā Health, a federally qualified health center, announced the achievement of Dr. Marko Vasic who was named a Certified Hypertension Clinician through the American Hypertension Specialist Certification Program.
As a Certified Hypertension Clinician, Dr. Vasic demonstrated mastery of a defined body of knowledge relating to hypertension and the management of clinical hypertension and related disorders, especially as it relates to complex and difficult to treat cases. This nationally recognized certification offers clinicians at the frontlines of diagnosing and treating hypertension an independent validation of their skills and expertise.
The American Hypertension Specialist Certification Program was formed in 1998 in response to the growing recognition that the hypertension problem requires the coordinated effort of frontline health care providers and those physicians with documented expertise in managing hypertension. “Dr. Vasic provides a vital role at Wahiawā Health with a vast knowledge in internal medicine as well as triple board certifications including the American Board of Internal Medicine, board certified in advanced diabetes management (BC-ADM) and board certified in Obesity Management through the American Board of Obesity Management,” said Bev Harbin, Wahiawā Health CEO. “This valuable hypertension certification provides additional assurance to our patients that their high blood pressure management needs will be taken care of at Wahiawā Health by Dr. Vasic and our team of dedicated providers.”
Vasic graduated from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Kragujevac in Serbia. He completed his internal medicine residency at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago and his neurocritical care fellowship at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami.
