Monthly outreach event with We Are Oceania on the first Wednesday of each month from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. Wahiawā Health, We Are Oceania and Premier Benefit Consultants are onsite to provide support and share information about health insurance, MedQuest and Medicare enrollment, housing, employment and education. We Are Oceania’s mission is to empower our Micronesian community to navigate success while honoring the integrity of our diverse heritage.

KHON2: Wahiawā Health creates geriatric center for kūpuna

WAHIAWA, Hawaii, (KHON2) — Wahiawā Center for Community Health, commonly known as Wahiawā Health, announced that they are creating a new geriatric specialty center.

The new center will focus on optimizing healthcare for aging kūpuna in an effort to promote better health and quality of life for seniors.
Staff are working to identify high-risk patients and develop care plans that address obstacles to getting treatment. That includes language barriers and economic challenges, as well as food, education and environmental factors.

The Wahiawā Center for Community Health recently opened a diabetes specialty center to address the high rates of diabetes and prediabetes in the islands.
