WAHIAWĀ, Hawai‘i – Wahiawā Center for Community Health (Wahiawā Health), a federally qualified health center, announced that Dr. Gary Pitt, podiatrist, has expanded his hours. He is now available on Tuesday from 2pm-7pm and on Thursday from 9am-12pm. 

Dr. Pitt specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions and disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower leg, as well as performing foot and ankle surgery. He takes a lead role in supporting patients who live with long term conditions that affect the health of the foot and ankle such as arthritis, diabetes, or cardiovascular disease. Dr. Pitt emphasizes non-surgical care as the first line of treatment. 

Dr. Pitt has been practicing podiatry for over 30 years. He graduated from the California School of Podiatric Medicine. 

While working at Wahiawa Health for the past four years, Dr. Pitt also provided podiatry services at Desmond T. Doss / Schofield Barracks Health Clinic, a position from which he recently retired. 

“Dr. Pitt is a Medicare-enrolled podiatrist who works closely with the care and treatment of patients who visit our diabetes and geriatric specialty centers,” said Bev Harbin, chief executive officer. “Dr. Pitt treats patients of all ages is, and is knowledgeable in advanced techniques involving surgery, orthopedics, pain relief medication and rehabilitation. He is a tremendous asset to our patients for treating many foot-related conditions.” 

Dr. Pitt’s podiatry specialties include: 

  • Examine, diagnose and treat foot, ankle and lower limb disorders. 
  • Office-based surgical procedures such as ingrowing toenails, wart, cyst removals and wound care. 
  • Prescribe physical therapy to strengthen the muscles and improve mobility. 
  • Recommend customized footwear or orthotic devices to correct foot issues. 
  • Apply therapeutic treatments for issues like arthritis, fractures and feet corn and calluses. 
  • Treat sport-related foot and leg injuries, like fracture. 
  • Advise patients on foot care and general wellness practices.
