Mavis Alaimalo, PsyD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor

Dr. Mavis Alaimalo was born in American Samoa and raised in a rough, low-income, gang-filled community, where adversity and resilience shaped her early years. She experienced firsthand the challenges that many local families face, from intergenerational trauma, cultural stigma around mental health, family obligations, and economic pressures. Her understanding of these unique dynamics and local values, combined with over 25 years in mental health care, including 20 years in private practice, enables her to serve the Wahiawā community with both professional expertise and genuine cultural insight.

As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), Dr. Mavis brings a wealth of experience addressing a wide spectrum of mental health challenges, helping adults navigate depression, anxiety, addiction, and life transitions. Her gentle yet powerful approach creates a sacred space where deep healing can occur, drawing from her own journey as a mother, a woman of faith, and someone who has walked through life’s valleys to find healing.

She’s a proud mom who loves ‘painting outside of the lines’ with her boys any chance they get.
