Denise Pronesti, RN, MSN, CPHRM

Denise obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina and Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. She landed in Hawai‘i as a traveling nurse after being deployed for a military conflict in Africa and found her home among the Islands. Following over 27 years of federal military service as a flight nurse, chief nurse, and chief of the aeromedical evacuation control team, Denise has been honored in the Women’s Military Memorial in Washington, D.C., and represents a valuable resource for our military families and veterans.

Denise has extensive health care expertise from clinical, managerial, and administrative roles over a 37-year career. She served as the director of perioperative services at five different facilities and worked in compliance and risk management within the federally qualified health center realm for over a decade. She is married with four boys, two rescued cats and a tiny Chinese Crested dog, ensuring that there is never a dull moment in the Pronesti home. Her favorite pastime is reading on the beach and watching her kids play till the sun sets, always looking for a green flash on the horizon, or a whale breaching.
