Cyndy Endrizal, PhD, MPH, RDN, LD, FAND

Research and Development Officer

Cyndy has over 25 years of experience in health care in Hawai’i. After graduating with a master’s degree in public health, she started her career researching Native Hawaiian infant feeding practices. For the next 20 years, Cyndy worked in acute care and dialysis assisting in the management of patients with diabetes, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, and other acute and chronic conditions. Cyndy has served on committees such as Bioethics, Nurse Practice, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Disaster Preparedness and Patient Education.

Cyndy has been on faculty at the University of Hawai’i, teaching various courses since 2006. Her most recent appointment is at John A. Burns School of Medicine, Complementary and Integrative Medicine. Cyndy’s doctoral dissertation describes dietetics practice and culturally safe care in the diverse Pacific region. In her spare time, Cyndy enjoys yoga, cooking and walking her dog, Hoku, with her husband on the beach.
