Bev Harbin

Bev has been actively involved in the community for decades including her role as a community organizer at the Ohana Housing Network, Oahu (OH-NO) from 2007 to 2011, focusing on preservation of city and county affordable housing projects. She successfully coordinated the protection of rights of elder residents of the Kahuku Elderly Housing project (HUD Section 8 based) in 2008. In 2005, she was appointed by Gov. Linda Lingle to fill a one-term vacancy as a member of the State House of Representatives, Honolulu/Downtown district.
Bev was born and raised in Honolulu and is a member of a third-generation family with strong political, business, social justice, and historical roots. She graduated from Kalani High School and the University of Hawaii with a degree in political science and women’s studies.
