Ryan A. Gillia, PsyD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Gillia grew up in Mililani and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He achieved an M.A., Psy. D. degree from the Hawaiʻi School of Professional Psychology. He completed his pre-doctoral training at Aurora Mental Health Center and Asian Pacific Development Center in Aurora, Colo., where he provided community mental health services for both children and adults. Dr. Gillia completed his post-doctoral experience at the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education providing school-based behavioral health services for public school students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12.

Dr. Gillia strives to provide trauma-informed and culturally sensitive care and is committed to helping diverse and marginalized populations. For his doctoral dissertation, he conducted research on help-seeking attitudes and behaviors within the local Filipino community to help identify barriers to access and engagement in mental health services. He has a deep appreciation for Hawaiʻi’s unique history, culture and values. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hiking with his dog, Maile, cooking and traveling.
